En este libro se presenta una clasificación conductual (aprender, emocionarse, motivar, atender, percibir, hablar, pensar y recordar) y se explican las relaciones existentes entre esas conductas y la manera en que pueden ser abordadas a partir de un número relativamente pequeño de procesos psicológicos básicos. Esta obra tiene como objetivo que el lector (tanto estudiante de Psicología como interesado en la misma) trabaje con una definición de conducta que se ajuste a la que utilizan los que la consideran objeto de estudio propio de la Psicología; que se use una clasificación que dé cuenta de los diferentes procesos psicológicos básicos; que se consideren efectivamente procesos, no cosas; y que se estudien en función de la experiencia del sujeto con el medio. Sus autores son todos profesores de los departamentos de Psicología Básica de la UNED (Dr. Vicente Pérez Fernández), de las Universidades de Sevilla (Dra. M.ª Teresa Gutiérrez Domínguez y Dr. Andrés García García) y de la Universidad de Huelva (Dr. Jesús Gómez Bujedo).
