These reports were issued to highlight the frank & continuing interchange between Pres. Clinton & his Advisory Council on HIV/AIDS. The Clinton Admin. made a strong commitment by attempting to reorganize all HIV/AIDS research within the various Institutes of the Nat. Inst. of Health (NIH) under the leadership & direction of the Office of Aids Research (OAR). Further, Pres. Clinton asked V.P. Gore to commence an ongoing dialogue between industry leaders & Gov't. scientists in an attempt to expedite a more coordinated approach to drug, vaccine, & microbicide R&D. The Admin. also had concerns that women, children, & all disenfranchised groups infected by HIV into clinical research studies. ???????
