Management of Information Systems
Management functions were developed first as a systematic step to carry out management activities, while implementation of the information components followed as part of management elements. The authors point out that the use of the possibilities and advantages of quantitatively supported managerial decisions gives managers the ability to quantify the impacts of both technical (hard) and subjective (soft) constraints and improve managerial decision-making processes that would otherwise be based mostly on personal intuition and experience. To achieve the goals and benefits of excellent performance, it is necessary to design and develop integrated models that would coordinate management functions and information system components as an integrated process. These facts are presented in various case studies.

Representing Imperial Rivalry in the Early Modern Mediterranean explores representations of national, racial, and religious identities within a region dominated by the clash of empires. Bringing together studies of English, Spanish, Italian, and Ottoman literature and cultural artifacts, the volume moves from the broadest issues of representation in the Mediterranean to a case study early modern England where the Mediterranean turn has radically changed the field. The essays in this wide-ranging literary and cultural study examine the rhetoric which surrounds imperial competition in this era, ranging from poems commemorating the battle of Lepanto to elaborately adorned maps of contested frontiers. In this volume, Nicholas R. Jones analyzes white appropriations of black African voices in Spanish theater from the 1500s through the 1700s, when the performance of Africanized Castilian, commonly referred to as habla de negros (black speech), was in vogue. Diffuse Large B Cell Lymphoma: Updates on Diagnosis and Treatments
Diffuse Large B Cell Lymphoma (DLBCL) is the most common Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma in Western countries and is comprised of a heterogeneous group of biologically distinct entities resulting in the clonal proliferation of a germinal or post-germinal malignant B cell. The disease is particularly aggressive with 40% of the afflicted individuals succumbing to the disease. The standard treatment for DLBCL is still chemo-immunotherapy with R-CHOP (rituximab, cyclophosphamide, doxorubicin, vincristine, and prednisone). Whilst this modality is safe and effective, up to 45%–50% of patients will relapse. Despite advances in therapy, DLBCL remains a challenging disease to manage, with significant heterogeneity in clinical presentation and outcomes. Therefore, there is a need to update the medical community with the latest updates in the diagnosis and treatment of DLBCL.
