Ada beberapa theolog yang menolak akan keberadaan Allah, tetapi bagaimanapun theolog Injil mengatakan bahwa manusia tidak bisa mengenal Allah, jika Allah tidak menyatakan diri kepadanya. Penyataan diri Allah dapat diketahui dari Alkitab. Allah selalu menyatakan diri dalam sejarah manusia. Oleh karena itu keberadaan Allah tidak bisa dipisahkan dari hakikat Allah, sifat-sifat Allah, hukum Allah, dll. Pengenalan akan Allah sangat penting karena dengan mengenal Allah dengan benar, gereja akan menjadi kuat, hidup di dalam kekudusan dan mengasihi Dia.
