O tema surgiu, por um lado, como uma forma de marcar os 50 anos do surgimento da teoria, mostrando o legado de Michel Pêcheux, sua atualidade e seu papel na consolidação da AD no Brasil, e, por outro, como uma maneira de indicar que a noção de condições de produção tem um lugar de centralidade nos estudos discursivos, mediante a qual podem ser percebidas as relações de forças que constituem toda e qualquer prática discursiva.
