Jika hidup, seperti yang dikatakan Forrest Gump adalah ibarat sekotak cokelat. Lalu, sekotak cokelat seperti apa yang hidup tawarkan pada Nurmala? Hari ini, setelah belasan tahun, Nurmala akhirnya memutuskan kembali melihat laut. Cahaya jingga menyinari wajahnya yang sendu. Angin membelai lembut ujung jilbabnya, ia memandang jauh ke kaki langit, mencari jawaban mengapa nasib begitu buruk memperlakukan hidupnya. Buih-buih air merayapi sela jari-jarinya, melindap dalam pasir yang melekat di kaki Nurmala. Ia memandang kuarsa-kuarsa bening itu, tanah yang begitu ia cintai ini malah merenggut semua cintanya.
