The four-volume set LNCS 14011, 14012, 14013, and 14014 constitutes the refereed proceedings of the Human Computer Interaction thematic area of the 25th International Conference on Human-Computer Interaction, HCII 2023, which took place in Copenhagen, Denmark, in July 2023. A total of 1578 papers and 396 posters have been accepted for publication in the HCII 2023 proceedings from a total of 7472 submissions. The papers included in the HCI 2023 volume set were organized in topical sections as follows: Part I: Design and evaluation methods, techniques and tools; interaction methods and techniques; Part II: Children computer interaction; emotions in HCI; and understanding the user experience; Part III: Human robot interaction; chatbots and voice-based interaction; interacting in the metaverse; Part IV: Supporting health, quality of life and everyday activities; HCI for learning, culture, creativity and societal impact.
Seminar paper from the year 2015 in the subject Geography / Earth Science - Miscellaneous, grade: 1.0, Technical University of Darmstadt (Fachbereich Geologie), course: Arbeit im Rahmen des MSc TropHEE, language: English, abstract: In the northern german lowlands north west of Bremen and south west of river Weser a factory wants to extract 70 cubic meters of groundwater per hour. They want to pump clean water despite of a landfill as contaminant source south of the well (=upstream of the ground water flow). The well is very close to the western one of two parallel faults within the middle layer, with conductivities between 1 and 1E-9 m/s and is strongly influenced by them. The uppermost laye...
Taking a multidisciplinary approach, this comprehensive Handbook comprises contributions from international researchers of diverse educational and research backgrounds. Chapters present methodological issues within marketing research, sharing the researchers’ experiences of what does and does not work, as well as discussing challenges and avenues for innovation.
Using some of the latest qualitative research tools, this volume highlights insights about consumption ranging from how consumers process advertising messages, to how small retailers can combat the practice of “showrooming” by consumers comparing online prices with mobile devices.
This handbook provides an authoritative and truly comprehensive overview both of the diverse applications of information and communication technologies (ICTs) within the travel and tourism industry and of e-tourism as a field of scientific inquiry that has grown and matured beyond recognition. Leading experts from around the world describe cutting-edge ideas and developments, present key concepts and theories, and discuss the full range of research methods. The coverage accordingly encompasses everything from big data and analytics to psychology, user behavior, online marketing, supply chain and operations management, smart business networks, policy and regulatory issues – and much, much more. The goal is to provide an outstanding reference that summarizes and synthesizes current knowledge and establishes the theoretical and methodological foundations for further study of the role of ICTs in travel and tourism. The handbook will meet the needs of researchers and students in various disciplines as well as industry professionals. As with all volumes in Springer’s Major Reference Works program, readers will benefit from access to a continually updated online version.
Nathan Bowler's Artikel "How anyone can prove Euler's Formula” skizziert dagegen gleich vier verschiedene Beweise. Gegenstand dieser Arbeit sind die beiden ersten Beweise hierin: Klassischer und Inversions-Beweis der Euler-Formel. Bowler setzt nicht nur Vieles voraus, sondern verwendet auch eine sehr kondensierte Darstellung. Daher werden hier in der folgenden Vorbereitung die nötigen Sätze hergeleitet bzw. bewiesen, bevor die eigentlichen Beweise der Euler-Formel entwickelt werden.
The productization of emerging technologies related to the Fourth Industrial Revolution (FIR) is now getting more attention across different industries. Compared to the previous industrial transformations that the world has seen which relied on mechanical innovations, the ongoing FIR is seeing software and data-driven products as the foundation. Apart from that, topics such as circular and sustainable economy as well as climate change are also disrupting the industrial ecosystem. For a viable and successful productization of emerging technologies, collaborations between interdisciplinary stakeholders are a necessity. One of the elements that has been identified to facilitate this collaborati...
The rise of the smartphone has shifted news from fixed publication to a flow of updateable information. The chapters in this book investigate the implications for audiences, industry and society as news becomes mobile. Wherever we go, news from anywhere can reach us on our smartphones. And wherever we are, we can search up information specific to that place. News is produced by mobile journalists (MoJos) as well as by citizens armed with smartphones, reporting breaking news from crisis zones where information is uncertain, or hyperlocal news from neighbourhoods where little happens. Mobile technology allows citizens to engage deeply with a cause or to skim headlines so they know a little abo...
This book provides students with a concise and practical guide that presents key understandings of the tourist experience and provides strategic guidance on how to develop an impactful and memorable experience. Chapters follow the path of the tourist journey, firstly exploring consumer behaviour, the decision-making process and the tourist’s need for escape, and providing insights into the strategic implications of consumer behaviour and the concept of immersion in tourism. Subsequent chapters look at the impact of experiences; consider trends in tourism experience such as wellness, sustainability, authenticity and fantasy; and provide experience design models. The final chapter offers a u...
