Apache is the most popular web server on the Internet because it is free, reliable, and extensible. The availability of the source code and the modular design of Apache makes it possible to extend web server functionality through the Apache API. For the most part, however, the Apache API has only been available to C programmers, and requires rebuilding the Apache server from source. mod_perl, the popular Apache module used primarily for enhanced CGI performance, changed all that by making the Apache API available to Perl programmers. With mod_perl, it becomes simple to develop Apache modules with Perl and install them without having to rebuild the web server. Writing Apache Modules with Perl...

IMS Application Developer Handbook will give a hands-on view of exactly what needs to be done by IMS application developers to write an application and take it "live" on an operator's network. It will offer practical guidance on building innovative applications using the features and capabilities of the IMS network, show how the rapidly changing development environment is impacting on the business models employed in the industry and how existing network solutions can be moved towards IMS. The book will also elaborate on how IMS applies basic VoIP principles and techniques to realise a true multi-access, multimedia network. The Handbook demonstrates how the IMS architecture and protocols are ...
This volume covers topics not covered in O'Reilly's other Perl books. Half of the articles in this volume deal with essential issues faced by Web developers using Perl.
The book reveals many different aspects of motion control and a wide multiplicity of approaches to the problem as well. Despite the number of examples, however, this volume is not meant to be exhaustive: it intends to offer some original insights for all researchers who will hopefully make their experience available for a forthcoming publication on the subject.
This book features a selection of papers presented at the Third IFIP WG 12.6 International Workshop on Artificial Intelligence for Knowledge Management, AI4KM 2015, held in Buenos Aires, Argentina, in July 2015, in the framework of the International Joint Conference on Artificial Intelligence, IJCAI 2015. The 9 revised and extended papers were carefully reviewed and selected from 15 submissions. They present new research and innovative aspects in the field of knowledge management such as knowledge models, KM and Web, knowledge capturing and learning, and KM and AI intersections.
"Hasidic tales are often read as charming, timeless expressions of Jewish spirituality. The best-known versions of these stories, however, have been rewritten for audiences outside traditional Judaism and few works have explored Hasidic tales as they were created by Hasidic Jews." "In Imagining Holiness Justin Lewis offers a radical reappraisal of how we think of Hasidic tales, calling into question received notions of authenticity. He focuses his study on the neglected Hasidic literature of the early twentieth century - primarily the work of Israel Berger and Abraham Hayim Michelson - and the literary and historical dynamics of its emergence, posing questions about its place in Hasidic soci...
