Wallace Robinson Bonds and Lera Agnes (Ray) Bonds
James B. Bonds (1883-1965) was the son of Robert B. Bonds (1862-1902) and Lucia B. Thompson (1862-1893) of Murfreesboro, Rutherford County, Tennessee. He married Laura Bell Warren (1889-1927) the daughter of Joseph Warren, Jr. (1860-1907 and Susan Evelyn Carter (1874-1904) of Murfreesboro, Rutherford County, Tennessee. Their son, Wallace Robinson Bonds (b.1913) married Lera Agnes Ray (b.1917) the daughter of Robert E. Lee Ray (1893-1963) and Clara Priscilla Moore (1893- 1962) of Smithville, Dekalb County, Tennessee. Her paternal grand parents were David Lafayette Ray (1866-1941) and Constance Elizabeth Green (1874-1948) of Smithville. Her maternal grandparents were Isaac Mountville Moore (1871-1948) and Rassie Lee Marsh (1875-1955) of Keltonburg, Dekalb County, Tennessee. Wallace R. and Lera married in 1936. They later relocated to California.
Chemical Bonds in Solids
The present four volumes, published under the collective title of "Chemical Bonds in Solids," are the translation of the two Russian books "Chemical Bonds in Crystals" and "Chemical Bonds in Semiconductors." These contain the papers presented at the Conference on Chemical Bonds held in Minsk between May 28 and June 3, 1967, together with a few other papers (denoted by an asterisk) which have been specially incorporated. Earlier collections (also published by the Nauka i Tekhnika Press of the Belorussian Academy of Sciences) were entitled "Chemical Bonds in Semiconductors and Solids" (1965) and "Chemical Bonds in Semiconductors and Thermody namics" (1966) and are available in English editions...

The Nature of Ultralong C–C Bonds
This book focuses on the creation and demonstration of a carbon–carbon (C–C) single bond beyond 1.8 Å and on elucidation of its unique nature. C–C single bond is one of the most fundamental concepts in organic chemistry. The elucidation of its nature is important for further understanding chemical phenomena. The nature in the extreme state of C–C single bond is still unexplored because of the instability of compounds. In terms of its bond length, the limit had been predicted around 1.8 Å based on the experimental and theoretical studies. This book describes a first example of a C–C single bond beyond 1.8 Å by employing the original intramolecular core-shell strategy to make a weak and elongated bond stable enough. The presence of such an elongated bond was demonstrated by experimental and theoretical studies. The bond length changes could affect physical properties such as optical absorption and redox potential. Furthermore, its unique "flexibility" was discovered.
