Poetics of Rage
This study explores the nationalist imagination, artistic philosophy and the overtly political dimension of Remi Raji’s poetry. It is an attempt to construct a sustained critical discourse on Raji’s ongoing body of works. Raji is one of the major poetic voices on the Nigerian literary scene today. With the publication of his first collection, A Harvest of Laughters, in 1997 Raji has continued to strengthen his craft and vision through subsequent volumes: Webs of Remembrance (2000), Shuttlesongs: America – a Poetic Guided Tour (2003), Lovesong for My Wasteland (2005); and Gather My Blood Rivers of Song (2009). Evidently he has attained poetic maturity and, given the frequency of his output, is set to realise a fulfilled poetic career. His maturation thus far through these five volumes deserves a major critical assessment, and a possible prediction for the direction of his artistic vision.
Pragmatics, Discourse and Society, Volume 2
This two-volume work speaks to the entire scope of Professor Odebunmiâs research concerns in general pragmatics, medical/clinical pragmatics, literary discourse, critical discourse analysis, applied linguistics and language sociology. Considering the 'Self' and Yoruba Being (the individual and the collective) in the context of the African decolonial project, Falola strips away Eurocentric influences and interruptions from African epistemology. Avoiding colonial archival sources, it grounds itself in alternative archives created by memory, spoken words, images and photographs to look at the themes of politics, culture, nation, ethnicity, satire, poetics, magic, myth, metaphor, sculpture, textiles, hair and gender. Vividly illustrated in colour, it uses diverse and novel methods to access an African way of knowing. Exploring the different ways that a society understands and presents itself, this book highlights convergence, enmeshing private and public data to provide a comprehensive understanding of society, public consciousness, and cultural identity.

Adeniran writes with passion and sometimes with anger but not without the subtlety of a patriotic poet concerned about the future of his people.
