Operational experience constitutes an important aspect of any fast reactor knowledge base. It is within this context that the IAEA convened a Topical Technical Meeting on Feedback from Operational and Decommissioning Experience with Fast Reactors. This publication presents the proceedings of this meeting.
This publication is the fourth workshop of the OECD/NEA Forum on Stakeholder Confidence, and focused on the issue of "Dealing with interests, values and knowledge in managing risk", in the particular context of Belgium, and the local partnerships formed for the long-term management of low, short-lived radioactive waste. The proceedings promote the idea of developing an integrated proposal to the national Government to construct a disposal facility for such waste. The general consensus is that stakeholder involvement has been beneficial, particularly where partnerships have formed amongst representatives of local organizations, and that the best practice approaches adopted can be of value in an international context
"From the Introduction: " The purpose of this program is to identify and assess international technologies that could be utilized for hazardous waste site remediation within the United States. This report summarizes the results of Phase I of this program, which identified international alternative technologies potentially applicable to Superfund site remediation. All remedial technologies identified as a result of the Phase I activities are described in this report.
