Al cierre de la segunda década del siglo XXI, que es el tiempo en el que se realizan las investigaciones que dan origen a los artículos publicados en este libro, el contexto político y social de Colombia vuelve a estar determinado por la persistencia del conflicto social y armado, que ahora parece recrudecerse. Este contexto exige interrogarse sobre la viabilidad, la pertinencia y la vigencia de las ciencias humanas y sociales y llevar la atención del lector y la comunidad académica al territorio, como espacio cultural en el que se configura el habitar y el convivir en colectividad, y a las fronteras culturales, como límites móviles que dan cuenta de este proceso de configuración. Los artículos presentados en este libro constituyen caminos que bordean o llevan a la problemática de lo regional en la escritura y la historiografía literaria.

Philosophy and Literature in Latin America presents a unique and original view of the current state of development in Latin America of two disciplines that are at the core of the humanities. Divided into two parts, each section explores the contributions of distinguished American and Latin American experts and authors. The section on literature includes the literary activities of Latin Americans working in the United States, an area in which very little research has been demonstrated and, for that reason, will add an interesting new dimension to the field of Latin American studies.
