Mason and Monkey's Big Adventure
On a very nice day, Mason and his best friend, Monkey, decide to play outside on the swing set together. Little do they know, as they swing higher and higher, that an incredible journey awaits them. They swing so high that they leave their seats and fly through the sky. They fly over the neighborhood and far across the world before landing in a mysterious jungle. Defence Acquisition
The Defence Committee accepts that there are deep-rooted problems with the present acquisition system, and draws attention to the example of the decision in 2010 to change to the carrier variant of the Joint Strike Fighter, a decision which later had to be reversed. The Committee agrees with the Government that the current arrangements for acquisition, constrained by public sector employment rules, are unsatisfactory. But the proposal to entrust acquisition to a Government owned, Contractor operated company is not universally accepted as the best way forward, and there are particular concerns about how the MoD's overall responsibility for acquisition could be maintained within a GoCo. The Committee considers that problems might arise if a non-UK company were given responsibility for UK defence acquisition. It further considers it vital that consultations are satisfactorily concluded with allies, to ensure that there is no adverse impact on co-operation, before any proposals are implemented.

Lawrence County, Alabama Newspaper Clippings from the Moulton Democrat, Union & Advertiser 1855 - 1875
Lawrence County is fortunate to have newspapers which survived the years immediately before the Civil War, and for many years after the War. This book represents clippings from 1855 through 1858 and picks up again from 1867 through 1875. Unfortunately no papers in this series survive between 1859 and 1866. The White family of Moulton established a newspaper dynasty during this turbulent period spanning antebellum days and then Reconstruction. Interesting articles regarding the disposition of slaves, and the troubles living under Military Rule following the "late unpleasantness" are offered. Particular attention is given to recording births, marriages and obituary notices. This book also includes articles pertaining to the history and progress of Lawrence County. This book will prove useful to any serious student of the history and genealogy of the people inhabiting Lawrence County, Alabama.
