Models, Languages, and Tools for Concurrent and Distributed Programming
This volume was published in honor of Rocco De Nicola’s 65th birthday. The Festschrift volume contains 27 papers written by close collaborators and friends of Rocco De Nicola and was presented to Rocco on the 1st of July 2019 during a two-day symposium held in Lucca, Italy. The papers present many research ideas that have been influenced by Rocco's work. They testify his intellectual curiosity, versatility and tireless research activity, and provide an overview of further developments to come. The volume consists of six sections. The first one contains a laudation illustrating the distinguished career and the main scientific contributions by Rocco and a witness of working experiences with Rocco. The remaining five sections comprise scientific papers related to specific research interests of Rocco and are ordered according to his scientific evolution: Observational Semantics; Logics and Types; Coordination Models and Languages; Distributed Systems Modelling; Security.
Theoretical Aspects of Computing - ICTAC 2005
This volume contains the proceedings of ICTAC 2005, the second ICTAC, International Colloquium on Theoretical Aspects of Computing. ICTAC 2005 took place in Hanoi, Vietnam, October 17–21, 2005. ICTAC was founded by the International Institute for Software Technology of the United Nations University (UNU-IIST) to serve as a forum for practiti- ers, lecturers and researchers from academia, industry and government who are interested in theoretical aspects of computing and rigorous approaches to so- ware engineering. The colloquium is aimed particularly, but not exclusively, at participants from developing countries. We believe that this will help developing countries to strengthen their research, teaching and development in computer science and engineering, improve the links between developing countries and developed countries, and establish collaboration in research and education. ICTAC is attracting more and more attention from more and more countries.
Trustworthy Global Computing
This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 5th International Symposium on Trustworthly Global Computing, TGC 2010, held in Munich, Germany, in February 2010. The 17 revised full papers presented and the 7 invited papers were carefully reviewed and selected from 31 submissions. This book constitutes revised selected papers from the International Symposium on Formal Aspects of Component Software, FACS 2014, held in Bertinoro, Italy, in September 2014. The 20 full papers presented in this volume were carefully reviewed and selected from 44 submissions. This Festschrift volume is published in honor of Pierpaolo Degano on the occasion of his 65th birthday and is the outcome of a colloquium held in Pisa, Italy, in June 2015. Pierpaolo Degano has worked on a large variety of topics including formal program semantics, concurrency theory, systems biology and security. The volume contains 22 refereed papers and one extended abstract, including personal memoirs and regular research papers by close collaborators and friends and a laudatio illustrating his distinguished career and his main scientific contributions. The papers deal with the main research topics explored by Pierpaolo Degano and those still under his investigation.
