Los juicios por jurados se han constituido en el nuevo sistema de administración de justicia, en vigencia en casi la mitad de las provincias argentinas. Se trata de un profundo cambio cultural, que implica que ciudadanos comunes –no jueces- decidan sobre la culpabilidad o inocencia de imputados en juicios penales. Como todo cambio cultural sorpresivo, entraña desafíos, si bien las experiencias recogidas son satisfactorias, gozando del beneplácito tanto de los convocados a ser jurados como de la sociedad civil. Aun siendo valioso el recorrido transitado, es mucho más lo que se puede hacer en orden a mejorar el sistema, señalando en esta obra sus debilidades y fortalezas. El trabajo pretende, en tal sentido, generar líneas de acción para el perfeccionamiento del sistema con énfasis en la selección de los miembros del jurado.
