The Boys Who Bring in the Crop

THE BOYS WHO BRING IN THE CROP is a mostly true story about a group of amateur marijunana smugglers who operated out of Florida in the mid seventies. These guys really had some cajones, they did their thing right under the noses of the law. They made seven flights to Colombia and back and never got caught, partly because they were smart and planned well, partly because of dumb luck. The book is fast paced, it all takes place in less than one year. Along the way there is plenty of adventure, not everything goes as planned. There is some romance thrown in, these guys knew how to enjoy life with the piles of money they accumulated.

Lincoln and His Boys

An intimate, moving portrait of Abraham Lincoln as rarely seen—through the eyes of his children—and captured in exquisite illustrations. Historians claim him as one of America’s most revered presidents. But to his rambunctious sons, Abraham Lincoln was above all a playful and loving father. Here is Lincoln as seen by two of his boys: Willie, thrilled to be on his first train trip when Lincoln was deciding to run for president; Willie and Tad barging into Cabinet meetings to lift Lincoln’s spirits in the early days of the Civil War, Tad accompanying him to Richmond just after the South’s defeat. With the war raging and the Union under siege, we see history unfolding through Willie’s eyes and then through Tad’s -- and we see Lincoln rising above his own inborn sadness and personal tragedy through his devotion to his sons. With evocative and engaging illustrations by P.J. Lynch, Rosemary Wells offers a carefully researched biography that gives us a Lincoln not frozen in time but accessible and utterly real. Back matter includes an author’s note.

Son of Rosemary

Return to the dark and haunting world of Rosemary’s Baby in Ira Levin’s beguiling sequel, Son of Rosemary. Levin’s Rosemary’s Baby, one of the best-selling books of all time, is the iconic classic that ushered in the era of modern horror. This shocking and darkly comic sequel is set well after the harrowing events of the first book, and is just as compelling and suspenseful. It is now 1999, and Rosemary Woodhouse awakens from a decades-long coma to find herself in a drastically changed world. She soon discovers her son is already thirty-three years old, an a charismatic spiritual leader worshipped the world over, preaching a message of tolerance and peace. But is “Andy” the savior the troubled world so desperately needs, or is he his father’s son—the Antichrist? Master of suspense Ira Levin’s sardonic and thought-provoking exploration of good and evil, Son of Rosemary, finds Rosemary and her child reunited in a battle of wills that could determine not just the course of the new millennium—but the very fate of humankind.

Sandy was the only Australian War Horse to return home from World War I. This is his poignant and fragmented war story. Through Sandy we experience the lives of three men who fought in the war. Major General Sir William Throsby Bridges is mortally wounded at Gallipoli, and Sandy is his charger. A veterinary officer is caught with Sandy behind the lines on the Western Front in a gas shell barrage. A permanently unfit soldier becomes a groom and brings Sandy home. Each is affected by their symbiotic relationship with the horse. This unique, poetic piece of theatre captures the brutality of war and the heroism of the soldiers and horses who served. Sandy is the horse full of wattle who drank the waters of the Murray in bucketloads, and who danced with bogong moths. He is our connection to all those left behind. (4 male).
