The resolutions are concerned with the advancement of scientific education and with the dissemination of information on science.
The Council of the Royal Society appointed a Committee in 1859 to prepare a scheme for a Scientific Relief Fund. This pamphlet comprises the Report of the Committee. The members were Sir Benjamin Brodie, Sir Edward Sabine, William Sharpey, Sir George Gabriel Stokes, William Hallowes Miller and John Peter Gassiot. The Report details the contributions to the Fund received thus far.
