Mart.) berwarna hitam, tebal, berserat, bercabang bebas membentuk massa padat yang sedikit lebih besar dari diameter akarnya sendiri. Massa diameternya meningkat ke bawah menjadi 1,80 m di kedalaman tanah 1,20 m. Semakin menjalar ke dalam tanah, akar menjadi lebih halus (Fanshawe, 1966).
