Living In A Man's World

“What is it that makes both men and women think that in order to be equal, they must deny that any differences between them exist?” No one will argue that men and women approach life differently. Shields uses her life experiences to take a thoughtful, biblical, and often humorous approach to addressing some of these differences, helping men and women embrace them, and building a bridge in the dialogue between the genders. She also includes questions at the end of each chapter to facilitate that dialogue. Living in a Man’s World contains valuable insights with which I can personally identify. The Deacon

We often end up living an “unexpected” life. Yet through it, glimmers of hope, faith, love, and peace find their way through. After being married for forty years and serving the Catholic Church as a deacon for the last five years, leaving the diaconate was the last thing on my mind. Life was good – wife, home, children, grandchildren, health, retirement, and an amazing ministry. Never did I expect to be a suicide survivor. Grieving the loss of my wife was difficult enough, but with suicide, the grieving process was much more intense. Being a deacon in the Catholic Church intensified that process even more. The Catholic Church made it clear. I could not stay a deacon and pursue another ...

Holy War The Blood of Abraham: Echoes from Nag Hammadi saying to all three Religions I am not the God you think you know is a book about the 1945 discovery at Nag Hammadi and how in time it will alter the future of Christianity-as well as Judaism and Islam. Through the lens of this discovery it addresses two important questions: · What is the role of the religions of Abraham in present world conflict? · Is only Islam to blame, or also Judaism and Christianity? It exposes the underlying flaws that are built into each of these three religious belief systems and, although it leaves it to the reader to decide, argues that culpability for Islamic terrorism lies not only with the failures of Islam, but also with the failures of Judaism and Christianity. It is a book that calls on its readers; Christians, Jews and Muslims, and all others, to look within themselves in search for answers to the most important questions facing our world today.
