The story revolves around a love triangle, Giorgio an army Captain, who has been carrying on an affair with a beautiful married woman (Clara), is then transferred to a back-water army post. There he comes into contact with a dark, moody woman who is also epileptic (Fosca). Despite her troubling presence, Fosca exhibits a strange beauty and Giorgio cannot simply rebuff her obsessive attention. This is extremely well played by the actress who played Fosca in Passion, Donna Murphy. Ms. Murphy is exotically beautiful, and all that was done with makeup and by pulling back her hair gave her a plain, spinster look, but not without a quiet but smoldering beauty. It later comes out Fosca has been taken advantage of and hurt in a short-lived and tragic marriage, which explains somewhat her motivation and behavior. Living alone and under the supervision of her cousin, the commander of the base, she falls madly, irrationally, in love with Giorgio.

Exeunt

In 2020, for the first time in centuries, heavy red curtains swept closed on stages across the West End; all theatres were closed. Two actors, keenly feeling the loss of their theatre homes, turned to a form of art that could still thrive over the following months, and set about photographing the stage doors of the deserted city. An extraordinary collaborative project almost two years in the making, Exeunt – The Stage Door Project collects together these moving images, alongside anecdotes from some of the world’s leading luminaries who have trodden the boards of the pictured theatres. A tribute to the magical nature of the stage door and the tales lurking behind it, Exeunt is a celebrati...

Divorce Me, Darling!

Divorce Me, Darling! is a nostalgic and amusing take-off of the musical comedies of the 1930s and a sequel to the technique used in The Boy Friend for the 1920s. The charming young pupils of Mme Dubonnet's finishing school who married their respective 'boy friends' now come together again after ten years of marriage at the Hotel du Paradis in Nice. But the initial euphoria of married life has worn off and as they sing and dance their way through some catchy numbers events are misconstrued and partners change until everyone wants a divorce. The situation is finally taken in hand by Mme Dubonnet, alias Madame K the cabaret singer, and her long-lost husband Percy. Having saved the President's life, Percy is reunited with Mme Dubonnet and this sets the trend, nature doing the rest. As the 'girls' return to their husbands each makes the startling announcement that there are several more happy events pending!
