This issue of Essays on Sculpture examines the work of the American artist Christine Kozlov (1945-2005). Although Kozlov was a central contributor to the development of conceptual art during the 1960s, her work is little known today.The first wave of conceptual art rethought assumptions of what an artwork can be, with exhibitions often operating as experimental sites where definitions of sculpture were tested and expanded.
