Protected cultivation - the safeguarding of crops from the harmful effects of climate change, environmentally toxic agricultural chemicals, and crop pests and diseases - is necessary for improving crop growth conditions. This new volume addresses this need by presenting valuable research on the components of protected cultivation, including climate control, modeling, automation, and economics. The volume offers comprehensive coverage of the many aspects of protected crop cultivation, including: selecting site-specific appropriate protected structures design, construction, and suitability of structures improved crop cultivation techniques (shifting from conventional to modern soil-less cultiv...

This new volume is a rich and comprehensive resource of the basic information and latest developments and research efforts on tropical and subtropical fruits. It presents an extensive overview of crop production techniques, processing, marketing, breeding efforts, harvesting, postharvest handling, pest and disease management, and more of banana, citrus, durian, grapes, guava, jackfruit, litchi, mango, and papaya.
The book highlights the current practices and future trends in structural characterization of impurities and degradants. It begins with an overview of mass spectrometry techniques as related to the analysis of impurities and degradants, followed by studies involving characterization of process related impurities (including potential genotoxic impurities), and excipient related impurities in formulated products. Both general practitioners in pharmaceutical research and specialists in analytical chemistry field will benefit from this book that will detail step-by-step approaches and new strategies to solve challenging problems related to pharmaceutical research.
Nanostructured Hexagonal Ferrites: Novel Characteristics and Multifunctional Applications presents the latest advances in hexaferrite nanostructures, which offer reliability, stability, and efficiency in a range of advanced applications. The book begins by introducing the structure, characteristics, fabrication, processing, characterization methods, and composites of hexagonal ferrites in detail. Solid-state chemistry and magnetic, magnetoelectric, multiferroic, and dielectric properties are examined. Subsequent chapters then provide in-depth coverage of the preparation of nanohexaferrites with specific properties for target applications, in areas such as magnetic energy storage, high-freque...
The significance of organometallic chemistry has constantly increased during the second half of this century. Within this area of research the organotin chemistry reigns as one of the most important branches. The decisive reason for this development has been the wide range of potential application of these compounds in industry, technology, and agriculture. The present volume continues the series on Organotin Compounds, which first appeared in 1975 and now comprises a collection of sixteen volumes. The overall plan of the series has been given in the preface of Volume 1. This volume concludes the description of the mononuclear organotin compounds with tin-oxygen bonds. Treatment of organotin compounds with tin-sulfur, -selenium, and -tellurium bonds appeared earlier in the Volumes 9 and 10. Volume 17 describes in detail the following compound types: RSn(OR')3, RSn(OR')2OR," R2Sn(X)OR', RSnX(OR')2, and RSnX2(OR').
