Compiler Construction
ETAPS’99 is the second instance of the EuropeanJoint Conferences on T- ory and Practice of Software. ETAPS is an annual federated conference that was established in 1998 by combining a number of existing and new conferences. This year it comprises ?ve conferences (FOSSACS, FASE, ESOP, CC, TACAS), four satellite workshops (CMCS, AS, WAGA, CoFI), seven invited lectures, two invited tutorials, and six contributed tutorials. The events that comprise ETAPS address various aspects of the system - velopment process, including speci?cation, design, implementation, analysis and improvement. The languages, methodologies and tools which support these - tivities are all well within its scope. Di?erent blends of theory and practice are represented, with an inclination towards theory with a practical motivation on one hand and soundly-based practice on the other. Many of the issues involved in software design apply to systems in general, including hardware systems, and the emphasis on software is not intended to be exclusive.

Mathematics of Program Construction

Hybrid Systems II
This book documents the scientific outcome of the Third International Workshop on Hybrid Systems, held in Ithaca, NY, USA, in October 1994. It presents a selection of carefully reviewed and revised full papers chosen from the workshop contribution and is the successor to LNCS 736, the seminal "Hybrid Systems" volume edited by Grossman, Nerode, Ravn, and Rischel. Algorithms and Computations
This book presents the refereed proceedings of the 6th International Symposium on Algorithms and Computation, ISAAC '95, held in Cairns, Australia, in December 1995. The 45 revised full papers presented together with the abstracts of three invited talks were selected from a total of 130 submissions. The papers address many current aspects of research and advanced applications of algorithms and computations; among the topics covered are graph theory and graph algorithms, computational geometry, computational logics, searching and sorting, approximation and optimization, algebraic manipulation, and coding.

KORSO: Methods, Languages, and Tools for the Construction of Correct Software
This book constitutes the final report of the work carried out in the project KORSO ("Korrekte Software") funded by the German Federal Ministry for Research and Technology. KORSO is an evolutionary, prototype-oriented project aimed at improving the theoretical foundations of quality-driven software engineering and at implementing known techniques for applications of practical relevance. The 21 strictly refereed papers presented are organized in five sections on methods for correctness, languages, development systems and logical frameworks, tools, and case studies. In addition, the preface and introductory paper give valuable background information and a concise state-of-the-art overview.
