En mai 2011, le gouvernement du Québec lançait un projet de développement économique visant la mise en valeur et l’exploitation des ressources naturelles dans le nord de la province : le Plan Nord. Parmi les réactions qu’a provoquées l’annonce de ce projet controversé, des voix autochtones se sont fait entendre, notamment celles des femmes innues. Cet ouvrage s’intéresse à la résistance des femmes innues à ce projet, plus précisément dans un contexte d’exploitation minière. L’analyse proposée découle d’une étude réalisée à Uashat mak Mani-Utenam et à Matimekush-Lac John, des communautés dont l’histoire est intrinsèquement liée au déploiement de l’industrie minière au nord du Québec.
