En unas ocasiones habla de ella como la ausencia de forma en un mundo desestructurado: se pierde la seguridad en el empleo, se desmorona el Estado de Bienestar, la globalización difumina los poderes locales establecidos. En otras, se refiere a que las condiciones sobre las que los miem-bros de la sociedad actúan cambian más rápido de lo que tardan en consolidarse en hábitos y rutinas. En este caso, ese mundo líquido se muestra como una corriente cuya velocidad y potencia desborda los cauces tradicionales: el cambio fluye tan rápido que deja avejentados los propios avances antes de haberlos aprovechado.
