Weißenohe
Weißenohe - ein kleines, heute oberfränkisches Pfarrdorf mit einem alten, oberpfälzischen Benediktinerkloster. Das ist der Stoff für viele Geschichten abseits der großen Geschichte. Diesen Geschichten ist Josef Pöppel jahrelang nachgegangen. Dabei hat er in den Archiven zwei bislang nicht publizierte Texte gefunden, die es wert sind, der Öffentlichkeit vorgestellt zu werden: das Tagebuch des Mönches Willibald Martin Schrettinger, der die Auflösung seines eigenen Klosters 1802/03 aktiv vorangetrieben hat, und die um das Jahr 1900 aufgezeichnete Geschichte des Klosters und der Pfarrei Weißenohe von Pfarrer Georg Adam Huber. Ausgehend davon schrieb Josef Pöppel die Geschichte der Pfarrei Weißenohe weiter, so dass für den kleinen Ort nun eine nahezu lückenlose Auflistung der Seelsorger mit ihren Geschichten und Problemen über gut 900 Jahre vorliegt: von den frühen Äbten des Mittelalters über lutherische, kalvinistische und katholische Pfarrer im 16. und 17. Jahrhundert, neuerlich die Prioren und Äbte im 17. und 18. Jahrhundert, bis hin zu den katholischen Priestern der letzten 200 Jahre.
