The book, entitled “Theoretical and Applied Studies on Turkish Economy, Vol I”, aims to make contributions both to academic world, namely to the literature of economics and to real world through the formation of national economic policies in various aspects. The book is designed to examine Turkish economy from different perspectives and to contribute to the enhancement of competitiveness. For this aim, 46 scholars, 3 editors and the precious employees of IJOPEC Publications came together and published this book. In all chapters, current issues are tried to be examined through state-of-the-art econometric approaches and rigorous analysis. Like any other books, the process was toilsome and demanding but the aim is divine: to contribute to the literature and to Turkish economy. Although tiring, subsequent volumes of the examination of Turkish economy is planned to be published in the future.Consequently, any academician, or practitioner who is interested in Turkish economy and its connections with global economy would benefit from the book.

Enflasyon hedeflemesi, 1990’lı yıllardan sonra enflasyonla mücadele ve fiyat istikrarını sağlamaya yönelik olarak birçok ülke tarafından kullanılan bir politikadır. 21.yüzyılda merkez bankalarının yaşadığı en önemli sorunlardan biri ekonomik istikrarı sağlayabilmek için para politikasında hangi stratejinin uygulanması gerektiğidir. Ülkelerin ekonomik, mali, sosyal ve kültürel yapılarının farklılık göstermesi, diğer bir ifadeyle tek bir sorun ve tek bir reçetenin söz konusu olmaması, merkez bankalarının uygulayacakları stratejinin seçiminde dikkate almaları gereken en önemli konulardan biridir. Ülkelerin merkez bankalarının temel amacı fiyat istikrarını sağlamaktır. Merkez bankaları bu amaca ulaşmak için politika faizini bir araç olarak kullanmaktadır. Bu kitapta enflasyon hedeflemesi döviz kuru arasındaki ilişki incelenmiştir. Enflasyonla mücadele stratejilerine değinilerek, enflasyon hedeflemesi ile döviz kuru arasındaki ilişki, OECD ülkeleri arasından enflasyon hedeflemesi uygulayan on yedi ülke için 2006-2021 yıllarını kapsayacak şekilde ortaya konulmuştur.
