This two-volume set (CCIS 1879 and 1880) constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 9th International Conference of Pioneering Computer Scientists, Engineers and Educators, ICPCSEE 2023 held in Harbin, China, during September 22–24, 2023. This three-volume set constitues selected papers presented during the 17th International Conference on Computer Science and Education, ICCSE 2022, held in Ningbo, China, in August 2022. The 168 full papers and 43 short papers presented were thoroughly reviewed and selected from the 510 submissions. In this study that is largely intellectual history, Cao Jian observes how Old Testament motifs were introduced by Protestant missionaries and Bible translators, with the help of Chinese co-workers in the beginning, and how those motifs drew attention from local converts and led to discussions among them in light of the norms in Confucianism.
