Semigroups of Operators: Theory and Applications
These Proceedings comprise the bulk of the papers presented at the Inter national Conference on Semigroups of Opemtors: Theory and Contro~ held 14-18 December 1998, Newport Beach, California, U.S.A. The intent of the Conference was to highlight recent advances in the the ory of Semigroups of Operators which provides the abstract framework for the time-domain solutions of time-invariant boundary-value/initial-value problems of partial differential equations. There is of course a firewall between the ab stract theory and the applications and one of the Conference aims was to bring together both in the hope that it may be of value to both communities. In these days when all scientific activity is judged by its value on "dot com" it is not surprising that mathematical analysis that holds no promise of an immediate commercial product-line, or even a software tool-box, is not high in research priority. We are particularly pleased therefore that the National Science Foundation provided generous financial support without which this Conference would have been impossible to organize. Complex Analysis and Dynamical Systems IV
The papers in this volume cover a wide variety of topics in differential geometry, general relativity, and partial differential equations. In addition, there are several articles dealing with various aspects of Lie groups and mathematics physics. Taken together, the articles provide the reader with a panorama of activity in general relativity and partial differential equations, drawn by a number of leading figures in the field. The companion volume (Contemporary Mathematics, Volume 553) is devoted to function theory and optimization.

Amitsur Centennial Symposium
This volume contains the proceedings of the Amitsur Centennial Symposium, held from November 1–4, 2021, virtually and at the Israel Institute for Advanced Studies (IIAS), The Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Jerusalem, Israel. Shimshon Amitsur was a pioneer in several branches of algebra, the leading algebraist in Israel for several decades who contributed major theorems, inspiring results, useful observations, and enlightening tricks to many areas of the field. The fifteen papers included in the volume represent the broad impact of Amitsur's work on such areas as the theory of finite simple groups, algebraic groups, PI-algebras and growth of rings, quadratic forms and division algebras, torsors and Severi-Brauer surfaces, Hopf algebras and braces, invariants, automorphisms and derivations.
