Advanced Machining Processes
Advanced machining processes has significant contributions to the manufacturing industries, especially since many new invented materials have advanced properties, which are difficult to machine using conventional machining processes. Therefore, advanced machining processes take a lead in dealing with these types of material. This book focuses on electrical machining and electrical dressing processes. Chapter 1 explains the electrochemical machining (ECM), includes process parameters that involved in the ECM processes. Chapter 2 deals with another advanced machining process, i.e. electro-discharge machining (EDM). Several process parameters that contribute to the EDM processes are also discussed. Electrical dressing is described in Chapter 3 as a special application of ECM and EDM. Finally, other types of non-conventional machining are explained in Chapter 4. Musalogue, a Catalogue of Musa Germplasm
This is the second edition of Musalogue to be published by INIBAP. This Musalogue covers most of the diversity in the genus Musa and is intended to be educational in nature. Through this publication, INIBAP aims to inform a wide audience about the vast range of diversity to be found in both cultivated bananas and their wild relatives. The publication is divided into two parts. The first part focuses on the wild species, covering the sections Eumusa, Australimusa, Callimusa and Rhodochlamys, while the second part provides information on cultivated varieties (cultivars). A list of the species and main groups and subgroups ofcultivars in the genus Musa is provided on page ix-xi (international classification).

Best practice guidelines for the rehabilitation and translocation of gibbons
Rehabilitation and translocation programmes are increasingly becoming an important component of conservation action plans for threatened species. Translocation can help address gibbon conservation issues (gibbons are recognized as one of the most threatened primate families globally) by allowing gibbons held in captivity to be rescued, rehabilitated and then returned to the wild. These guidelines for the translocation of gibbons have been developed in collaboration with stakeholders in hylobatid conservation. This process was initiated druing a workshop on gibbon rehabilitation, reintroduction and translocation, facilitated by the IUCN SSC PSG Section on Small Apes (SSA), and the result of this process is the current document, which is based on shared knowledge and experience to date. The guidelines are designed to be a practical and useful document available for all stakeholders, with the aim of equipping field projects and decision makers with the tools for scientifically sound practice in gibbon rehabilitation and translocation.
Natural Production of Organohalogen Compounds
This book summarizes the state-of-the-art knowledge on naturally occurring organohalogens, of which more than 3700 are documented. The chapters cover all aspects of this field, including the structural diversity and sources of organohalogens, the mechanisms for their formation and biodegradation, the clinical use of dichloroacetate, and the synthesis of the powerful anticancer chlorine-containing cryptophycin. Both biogenic and abiogenic sources of organohalogens are treated, the latter of which include volcanic emissions and abiogenic formation in soil. Halogenation in humans, fungi, and in the ocean are covered in separate chapters. Sources and biosynthesis of the relatively rare natural organofluorines are also discussed in this volume. By better understanding of the role nature plays in the area of organohalogens, we can more intelligently regulate the production, use, and disposal of man-made organohalogen compounds.
