Una aproximación a la Realidad, los investigadores de la División Académica de Ciencias Sociales y Humanidades de la Universidad Juárez Autónoma de Tabasco, muestran su compromiso, de trabajar en investigaciones de frontera, que atienden los problemas sociales que enfrenta hoy nuestra sociedad.
La novena Reunión Anual de la Red de Desastres Asociados a Fenómenos Hidrometeorológicos y Climáticos (redesclim), celebrada en modalidad mixta en la ciudad de Zacatecas, tuvo como producto esta obra. Sus páginas integran los esfuerzos colectivos de estudiantes, docentes, investigadores y colegas del sector público, y muestran parte de la tarea científica de cada una de las instituciones donde nuestros integrantes se desempeñan. Cada año, la Reunión de la redesclim ha indagado y enriquecido las cuestiones de gestión de desastres asociados a fenómenos hidrometeorológicos y climáticos; como resultado, ofrece alternativas en la mejora del conocimiento científico a los tomadores de decisiones, a fin de que desempeñen su labor con la seguridad del respaldo científico. Así pues, la presente obra no solo goza de pertinencia social, sino que permite seguir cultivando la colaboración académica ente los miembros de la Red e instituciones nacionales, a pesar de las dificultades impuestas por la pandemia de covid-19.

Transitions from authoritarian to democratic governments can provide ripe scenarios for the emergence of new, insurgent political actors and causes. During peaceful transitions, such movements may become influential political players and gain representation for previously neglected interests and sectors of the population. But for this to happen, insurgent social movements need opportunities for mobilization, success, and survival.
