How Informal Institutions Matter
In How Informal Institutions Matter, Zeki Sarigil examines the role of informal institutions in sociopolitical life and addresses the following questions: Why and how do informal institutions emerge? To ask this differently, why do agents still create or resort to informal institutions despite the presence of formal institutional rules and regulations? How do informal institutions matter? What roles do they play in sociopolitical life? How can we classify informal institutions? What novel types of informal institutions can we identify and explain? How do informal institutions interact with formal institutions? How do they shape formal institutional rules, mechanisms, and outcomes? Finally, how do existing informal institutions change? What factors might trigger informal institutional change? In order to answer these questions, Sarigil examines several empirical cases of informal institution as derived from various issue areas in the Turkish sociopolitical context (i.e., civil law, conflict resolution, minority rights, and local governance) and from multiple levels (i.e., national and local).

Bu kitaptaki tüm şiircikler ve resimler Mehmet Bedia Kirpi İlkokulu 3/F Sınıfı öğrencilerine aittir. Öğrencilerimiz önce hayal ettiler. Ardından düşündüler. Sonra da onlarca konuda gönüllerinden geldiği gibi yazdılar, çizdiler, boyadılar... Olmadı, baştan başladılar. Her ne kadar çalışmalarını kısa sürede tamamlasalar da bir sanat eseri yaratmanın hiç de kolay olmadığını bizzat gördüler. Sanatın değerini bilip, sanatçıya saygı duydular. Bize de bu umut verici çalışmaları bir araya getirmek kaldı. Kim bilir? Belki de bir şairin ya da bir ressamın doğuşuna şahitlik ediyoruz… Asıl amacımız, başta 3/F Sınıfı olmak üzere tüm çocuklara “İstersen Yaparsın!” demekti. Ancak sadece istemenin yetmeyeceğini de yaparak yaşayarak görmüş olduk. Son olarak kitabımızın e kitap olarak yayımlandığını ve tamamen ücretsiz olduğunu vurgulamak ister, iyi okumalar dileriz.

Second-Generation Romantic Poets' Paradoxical Approach to Women
This book examines certain literary works by Percy Bysshe Shelley, George Gordon Byron, and John Keats because, on the one hand, they represent patriarchal hegemony and, on the other, they present a challenge to it. The primary objective of the book is to demonstrate that despite their tendency towards liberty, individual rights, and imagination, these poets did not consistently choose one attitude towards women in their literary works. Suggesting that Byron, Shelley and Keats were caught between their liberal views on women and patriarchal norms of their age, the book discusses how their attitudes towards women lack consistency through an analysis of the specific roles assigned to women, both in accordance with and in defiance of traditional gender norms.
