Crossroads at the Manor!

Daniel L Stone's new novel is a powerful mix of suspense and paranormal mystery based on the connection between two love stories that take place 100 years apart. Both stories take place at the same manor on a beautiful island that legend said was the angels' playground on earth. The manor was built on a plateau between two tall mountains where the legend also said the angels ascended and descended from Heaven to their playground. This land was sacred and hallowed ground-not to be violated! Against this magical backdrop, the book takes a satirical look at an extremely rich and powerful couple who get caught up in the ultimate spiritual warfare. This couple is used to solving everything with logic and money and power, but they are in a situation that cannot be solved with any of the above and they risk losing everything, including their massive empire. Crossroads at the Manor is the first book of a trilogy that will keep you in suspense from start to finish!

Written in caustic, streamlined prose, Twisted City is a chilling depiction of how quickly one's life can take a turn for the worst. Times are tough for David Miller, a journalist for a second-rate financial magazine who hates his boss, is tired of supporting his girlfriend's partying lifestyle, and recently lost his sister to cancer. But things are about to get much worse. When he loses his wallet in a midtown bar, he is launched into a world where he finds himself being blackmailed by junkies, lying to his friends and family, and stumbling into a crime that may cost him his life.

Geocultural Power

Launched in 2013, China's Belt and Road Initiative is forging connections in infrastructure, trade, energy, finance, tourism, and culture across Eurasia and Africa. This extraordinarily ambitious strategy places China at the center of a geography of overland and maritime connectivity stretching across more than sixty countries and incorporating almost two-thirds of the world’s population. But what does it mean to revive the Silk Roads for the twenty-first century? Geocultural Power explores this question by considering how China is couching its strategy for building trade, foreign relations, and energy and political security in an evocative topography of history. Until now Belt and Road ha...

It is also aimed at chief executives, managing directors and other very senior executives in companies and non-profit-making organisations.

The disturbing educational success rates for Aboriginal students in comparison with their peers have been documented for many years. Reducing this persistent achievement gap is one of Canada's most pressing educational challenges. Numerous reports commissioned by federal and provincial governments and Aboriginal authorities have offered detailed examinations of the complex social, economic, linguistic, and cultural interrelationships that contextualize the educational environments of Aboriginal students. Many of their families struggle with the legacy of residential schools that ripped families apart and caused immeasurable damage to the social fabric. Schools serving these communities work within a context that may include poverty, learned helplessness, despair, and high levels of abuse, addictions and violence. For some communities, student suicide rates may exceed graduation rates. Yet despite many extraordinary challenges, some schools are producing tangible progress for their Aboriginal students. This report springs from a study of ten such schools in an effort to identify practices that appear to contribute to their success.
