Dieses Buch legt den Fokus auf die Integration von Elektrobussen in den öffentlichen Personennahverkehr. Die Probleme der Elektromobilität, wie beispielsweise die Ladeinfrastruktur und Akkumulator-Effizienz können durch verschiedene technische Lösungen verbessert bzw. umgangen werden. Die ersten elektrisch betriebenen Busmodelle wurden gerade im asiatischen Raum entworfen, aber zur echten Marktreife haben es diese Busse noch nicht geschafft. Dennoch werden die oftmals belächelten „Elektrobusse“ immer mehr zur echten Alternative gegenüber den Fahrzeugen mit Dieselmotor, gerade im Hinblick auf die Diskussion um die Grenzwertüberschreitungen der Schadstoffe in deutschen Innenstädten.
