Systemdigtningen. Modernismens tredje fase
I slutningen af 1960’erne opstod der en ny form for modernistisk digtning i Danmark. Systemdigtningen, som den blev kaldt, fokuserede på opbygningen af digtet mere end indholdet, og den fulgte ofte formelle principper i sin struktur som for eksempel en talrække. Litteraturkritiker Steffen Hejlskov Larsen er den første til at introducere begrebet i sin bog ”Systemdigtningen” fra 1971, og bogen står som et sandt hovedværk inden for analysen og definitionen af systemdigtningen i Danmark. Steffen Hejlskov Larsen (1931-2009) var en dansk litteraturkritiker, der både skrev anmeldelser i Berlingske Aftenavis og udgav en lang række bøger om litteratur, sprog og læsning. Hans nykritiske analyser af lyrik fik betydning for bl.a. tekstlæsningens pædagogik.

A Cultural History of the Avant-Garde in the Nordic Countries 1950-1975 is the first publication to deal with the postwar avant-garde in the Nordic countries. The essays cover a wide range of avant-garde manifestations in arts and culture: literature, the visual arts, architecture and design, film, radio, television and the performative arts. It is the first major historical work to consider the Nordic avant-garde in a transnational perspective that includes all the arts and to discuss the role of the avant-garde not only within the aesthetic field but in a broader cultural and political context: The cultural politics, institutions and new cultural geographies after World War II, new technologies and media, performative strategies, interventions into everyday life and tensions between market and counterculture.

This third issue of Romantik: Journal for the Study of Romanticisms contains a theme section: 'Renegotiations of romanticism'. This special theme brings together various examinations of the ways in which romanticism continues to play an important role in a post-romantic age. The reason for inviting contributions examining the afterlife of romanticism in national and international settings is to explore how we may understand it as not just a past event or artistic movement, but as an ongoing process of cultural development. The contributions provide new insights into post-romantic art - both from the perspective of the artists and in terms of how their works were received. In addition to the articles featured in the theme section, this issue also contains contributions that shed new light on both canonical and lesser-known works from the romantic period - including analyses of poetry, novels, and travelogues. As in previous issues, Romantik is richly illustrated.
