Rev. William Davis (d.1745) immigrated from Wales to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1684. He married twice and died at Shrewsbury, New Jersey. His grandson, Thomas William Davis (1719-1791), married Tacy Crandall in Westerly, Rhode Island and led a group of Seventh Day Baptists to seek a location for colonization in what became Salem, Virginia (later West Virginia). Descendants lived in West Virginia, Kentucky, New York, New Jersey and elsewhere.

Thomas Sayre came with his family from England to Lynn, Massachusetts, in the early 1630's. Among descendants of Thomas were clergymen, surgeons, attorneys, ambassadors, and representatives of almost every profession. Francis B., cowboy, professor of law, and ambassador, was son-in-law of former President Woodrow Wilson. Zelda was the wife of American novelist, F. Scott Fitrzgerald, and subject of one of his books. David A. was a silversmith, banker, and founder of Lexington's Sayre School. In 1794, Thomas and his brothers (William, Frank and John) immigrated with their parents from Ireland to Philadelphia. Thomas Law married Martha Fisher (b. ?-d.1795) and Nancy Dixon (1781-ca. 1855). Descendants and relatives lived in Ohio, Indiana, Philadelphia, West Virginia and elsewhere.
