The book reflects the author's many years of experience with keeping and breeding various crustaceans. In addition, horseshoe crabs, as well as terrestrial and brackish water crustaceans are also presented. This also includes terrestrial hermits and the so-called cockroach-crabs of the genus Aegla.

Manche Tiere kann man gar nicht übersehen, während andere Winzlinge sind, für deren Entdeckung man eine Lupe braucht. Hier werden einige alte Bekannte, etliche weitgehend Unbekannte und darüber hinaus noch neue Arten vorgestellt, welche die Klimaerwärmung vor Borkums Strände spült... Bei der Erstellung dieses Buches hatte der Autor eine Perspektive, die eine Zeitspanne von etwa 30 Jahren umfasst. Ein sehr persönliches Werk, welches aus den Erkenntnissen vieler Jahre erstellt wurde.

They are therefore actually completely impossible legacies of prehistory. And it is the intention of this work, to make the reader think about this. Beyond that, it is also a matter of showing why science and theology have become completely senseless enemies, and how we are all obviously to be latently influenced. The author of this work was not interested in supporting one side or the other of this conflict. But above all, to re-enter into a factual dialogue and to discard old thought patterns and didactic mistakes. And one thing above all: To learn again, to discuss with each other in a factual, fair and constructive way. Long live the subject!
