Participation, Culture and Democracy
The underlying question of this collection of essays focuses on the very core of our democratic culture. It asks how one can actively take part in its political, legal, educational, informational, social, cultural and economic mechanisms. Advanced technologies have given rise to a vast array of tools enabling a culture of participation. New forms of civic engagement have emerged, as well as a new conceptualization of active citizenship. These developments encouraged the authors of this collection to address legal, social, political, philosophical, and media aspects of the emancipatory potential of participatory democracy. They focus on specific case studies stretching across various places and spheres, from the Canadian media legislature, community organizing in low-income neighbourhoods of the USA, the Knesset of Israel, the Roma minority in Poland, and legal texts of Austria, to the online sphere of art and digital democracy. Demografske spremembe in regionalni razvoj
Na področju demografskega razvoja deli Slovenija usodo razvitejših evropskih držav: prebivalstvo je doseglo svoj zenit in se hitro stara, njegovo obnavljanje je odvisno od migracij, projekcije napovedujejo hitro zaostrovanje razmer s perečimi posledicami na številnih področjih. Demografske analize kažejo na nadaljevanje zgoščanja prebivalcev v osrednjeslovenski statistični regiji in ob večjem delu avtocestnega križa ter na upad števila prebivalcev v posameznih mestih in obsežnih obmejnih območjih. S tem se v prostorskem in strukturnem smislu uresničujejo napovedi izpred desetletij, ko so avtorji začeli opozarjati na demografsko ogroženost Slovenije in pričakovane prostorske posledice demografskih sprememb. Žal opozorila stroke niso naletela na plodna tla in posledice vse bolj trkajo na vrata. V monografiji ponovno obravnavamo problematiko razvoja obmejnih območij, problem staranja prebivalstva v mestih in na podeželju, vplive demografskih sprememb na gospodarstvo in zaposlovanje, problematiko oskrbe in zagotavljanja storitev splošnega pomena, več poglavij pa naslavlja posamezna območja Slovenije in njihove razvojne izzive, vezanje na demografske spremembe.
Regionalni razvoj včeraj, danes, jutri
Praznovanje 50. obletnice regionalne politike v Sloveniji in 30. obletnice neodvisnosti države je priložnost za oceno dosedanjih naporov pri spodbujanju regionalnega razvoja kot tudi za pogled v prihodnost. V knjigi se oziramo na prehojeno pot, opisujemo sistem spodbujanja regionalnega razvoja v preteklosti in kažemo na uspešnost regionalne politike pri odpravljanju medregionalnih razlik. Predstavljamo vlogo regionalnih razvojnih agencij in regionalnega prostorskega načrtovanja v regionalnem razvoju ter kakovost življenja v obmejnih problemskih območjih, kot jo dojemajo tam živeči prebivalci. V sklepnem delu se posvečamo prihodnjemu razvoju. Opozarjamo na vlogo digitalizacije in demografske spremembe, prihodnji razvoj pa skušamo osvetliti tudi s filozofske perspektive. Demografske, podnebne, gospodarske in družbene spremembe zahtevajo nove pristope, sveže ideje, predvsem pa sistematičnost v prepoznavanju razvojnih smernic, idej, razvojnih priložnosti in dejavnikov, ki bodo ob skupnem delovanju lahko vodili v bolj uravnotežen razvoj države na vseh področjih. Pri tem je skladen razvoj odgovornost vseh, dosežemo pa ga lahko le skupaj.
Contemporary Approaches to Legal Linguistics
In this volume, scholars explore and discuss current issues in Theoretical Legal Linguistics (TLL) and Applied Legal Linguistics (ALL), contributing to the growing body of international research in the field. Focus is placed on the interconnected skills, tasks and approaches to the study of legal language in its plethora of facets as presented at the first international conference and the second International Legal Linguistics Workshop (ILLWS19) of the Austrian Association for Legal Linguistics.
