Where do clouds hang out? Earth’s atmosphere is divided into four zones- troposphere (upto 13 kms average from earth’s surface), stratosphere (from 13 km to 50 kms), mesosphere (from 50 km to 85 km) and thermosphere (thereof upto 800 kms). The layers between troposphere and stratosphere is known as tropopause and that between stratosphere and mesosphere is called stratopause. Clouds exist from as low altitude as 2 km from the earth’s surface. Cumulous clouds are the lowest clouds. Upon hearing a lecture by late Dr. Roddam Narasimha, I got an idea of writing a play using Meghadoota to induce learning about clouds. That I had byhearted few stanzas of Meghadoota in my childhood helped rekindle the interest. Specially the fifth verse which reads as “Where is this cloud, a collection of vapour, lightening, water and wind? Where the matters of message, fit to be sent by persons of sound senses? indicating that sending message through clouds was not a matter of pure fiction. Hence the play “A ride on the clouds” This book has been published by Techfiz Inc., Bengaluru

Shashtipurti is a milestone that marks celebration and gratitude for the life given by God. It’s a pointer to a new journey. A pointer to spend the rest of one’s life reflecting inward, discovering self, and the person behind the persona. It’s a wake-up call to lose yourself so you can find yourself. After 60 years, all the planets in the Zodiac come to the same position as the actual date of birth of the individual. It’s another signal from the universe to return to our innocence. Sixty years is a long time in the life of an individual, and in my family, the completion of 60 years is celebrated as an important milestone. My eldest brother did a homam and pooja in our house while my ...

In today's world, digital payments have become the norm, and banks are encouraging customers to conduct transactions digitally. While traditional bank branches still exist, it is becoming increasingly impractical to carry out transactions through traditional methods such as issuing cheques, withdrawing and depositing cash, and opening fixed deposits, as banks are understaffed. Digital payments offer a more convenient option, such as swiping debit and credit cards, using contactless cards, scanning QR codes, and transferring money through apps. However, the fast pace of this transition has left some people unaware of the procedures and precautions needed to conduct digital transactions securely. This book aims to educate readers on these topics through short stories narrated in the context of discussions. Hopefully, readers can benefit from the information provided in this book. Thanks to B. R Ravindranath for this book. Techfiz Inc is happy to have worked on publishing this digital literacy handbook.

Bharata Darshana

Mr. Shripadrao Laxman Kulkarni, (S.L. Kulkarni) the author of this book, was a great source of inspiration to all of us as well as to the society at large. After a prolonged 20 years of his passing away on 7th May 1994 the complete literature is being brought out in the booking form. After reading out the 1“ volume of Shri. SLK's autobiography sent through email, our friend Mr. M. Vishwanath immediately dashed to my house the next day itself. He was so overwhelmed by the writings that he decided to publish his complete works. This was the turning point for the publication of this book which was my long-cherished aspiration. DISCOVER COORG

The idea for this book took shape by accident. In recent years, Coorg has emerged as a major tourist destination. Tourists from both within the country and abroad, wanting to visit this landlocked hill station, do not find much information either through books or on the Net. Moreover, Coorg has a unique history and culture, different from any of its neighbours in South India. With a view to throw more light on this martial race, renowned for its brave men and beautiful women, I launched a website on Coorg called www.coorgtourisminfo.com. With computer penetration being low in India, I thought the best way to reach out to those who want to know more about Coorg, was to bring out a book. I hope this book will serve as a handbook for those wanting to know more about Coorg as well as those looking for information from a tourist’s perspective. Hailing from Coorg, and having monitored the developments in Coorg from a journalistic point of view in the last two and half decades, I thought it was my professional duty to write on this astonishing land of the bold and the beautiful. The Romance of Indian Coffee

Since Coorg is the biggest grower of coffee in India, I zeroed in on the subject of coffee. During my youth in Coorg, I was fascinated by the legend of Mr Ivor Bull, a pioneer planter and the founder of the Consolidated Coffee Estates Ltd., Pollibetta. Though Mr Bull had returned to England in 1954, he had become part of the local ‘coffee folklore’ and was remembered with affection by the local planters. Rightly so, because it was Mr Bull who had encouraged the Coorg planters to grow oranges, cardamom and pepper along with coffee. The inter-planting vastly improved the economic condition of the small planters. I did not want to focus my writing on the cultivation of coffee because coffee has been grown in India as a commercial crop for nearly two centuries and planters are familiar with it. In this book, I have tried to give the reader, the coffee grower and the coffee lover in particular, an insight into the romance of coffee – it’s fascinating history, many charming facets of coffee culture, its symbiosis with nature and what makes it such a captivating brew.
