Entendemos que essas pesquisas se amparam, dentre outras, diante dos dados estatísticos oficiais do censo escolar que demonstram altos índices de matrículas desse grupo especial de educandos nas escolas de Educação Básica e em Instituições de Ensino Superior, fazendo surgir inquietações acerca do processo de ensino e aprendizagem desses alunos. Como exposto, a presente obra tem como objetivo possibilitar aos profissionais da educação e das diferentes áreas sociais conhecimento acerca das condições objetivas e subjetivas vivenciadas pelos alunos da educação especial, bem como aqueles considerados à margem da sociedade, diante do processo de inclusão escolar.
