Eugène est un architecte un peu maniaque dans la ville, il est passionné par l'ordre, le classement et les angles droits. Il a toujours construit ses immeubles en suivant ces principes. Or, un jour, sur un chantier, un arbre bascule sans se déraciner, de telle sorte que le tronc traverse l'endroit où l'immeuble d'Eugène devait être construit. Un ouvrier propose de couper l'arbre, mais notre architecte ne veut pas. Au contraire, il va renverser tous ses principes afin de construire autour de cet arbre, laissant du même coup jaillir son véritable génie. [SDM].
