On matters relating to the Institute and to University College London, where he was Professor of Architecture, including the following topics: having heard that the collection of casts and models in the RIBA basement was being sorted out and some given away, asked if he could have some for University College where he was trying to remodel the drawing classes; reported on the examinations held by the Sanitary Institute, in his capacity as Visitor from the RIBA; thought the RIBA lectures should include more papers on practical aspects and offered to contribute ten guineas to the expense of organising some talks on materials and construction; urged the RIBA to help in the campaign to secure a pension from the state for the widow and children of John Turtle Wood, architect and archaeologist.
