Michael Treier, Sr. immigrated from Switzerland to Philadelphia in 1750 with his stepfather, Mr. Holly, and settled in Berks County, Pennsyl- vania. The Troyers later moved to Somerset County, Pennsylvania. Descendants and relatives lived in Pennsylvania, Ohio, Indiana, Michigan, Illinois and elsewhere. Some descendants immigrated to Ontario and elsewhere in Canada.
