Arterial Chemoreception
Arterial chemoreceptors are unique structures which continuously monitor changes in arterial blood oxygen, carbon dioxide, glucose, and acid. Alterations in these gases are almost instantaneously sensed by arterial chemoreceptors and relayed into a physiological response which restores blood homeostasis. La plaza de toros "La Petatera" de Villa de Álvarez forma parte del folclore popular y de las tradiciones charro-taurinas del Estado de Colima. Se considera un ejemplo de arquitectura monumental de fuerte importancia religiosa, política y económica y su característica principal es que se puede construir y deshacer una y otra vez. Está hecha de al menos 10 tipos diferentes de madera y está cubierta de "petates", de ahí la razón por la que se le llama "Petatera". El fotógrafo Desiderio Calvario, documentó durante 10 años el esfuerzo colectivo de quienes construyeron La Petatera para las fiestas, que se remontan a 1857, en honor a San Felipe de Jesús durante el mes de febrero de cada año.
