Rappresentazione, Architettura e Storia
La committenza ha da sempre condizionato e indirizzato l’architettura sia nella sua fase progettuale e di cantiere sia nella sua conservazione, tenuto conto delle vicende storiche coeve, della situazione economica al contorno e della cultura architettonica del momento. Un ordine religioso è tra i committenti più esigenti perché, vivendo secondo precisi dogmi, richiede un’architettura che identifichi le proprie necessità. I due tomi raccolgono contributi che affrontano le modalità in cui gli ordini e le congregazioni religiose, tra Medioevo ed Età Moderna, hanno rappresentato sé stessi tramite l’arte e l’architettura. Gli atti sono frutto del convegno, svolto a maggio 2021, organizzato in seno alle molteplici attività complementari che il Dottorato di Storia, Disegno e Restauro dell’Architettura di Sapienza Università di Roma offre per la formazione accademica integrando i tre distinti, ma affini, settori disciplinari.

Una raccolta di saggi come questa vuole essere soprattutto la testimonianza di un percorso disciplinare, un cammino simile peraltro a quello compiuto in altre università italiane e tuttavia unico nella sua evoluzione e particolare come ogni esperienza lo è. Dieci anni di lavoro scientifico e didattico sul paesaggio meritavano una riflessione e noi l'abbiamo fatta nell'unico modo che conosciamo: scrivendo. Non c'è, dunque, né potrebbe esserci nessuna volontà celebrativa, è solo un modo, fra i tanti, di compiere una sorta di autoanalisi, di comprendere più approfonditamente noi stessi e di far meglio conoscere agli altri la nostra vicenda, quello che abbiamo prodotto, come l'abbiamo fatto e quali risultati sono stati conseguiti, al fine di poterlo confrontare e mettere a disposizione di quanti si occupano della stessa area disciplinare o di problematiche ad essa vicine.

Regole e progetti per il paesaggio
This book brings together the materials of a study carried out by the Florence Faculty of Architecture in liaison with the Tuscan scientific community (five universities, research institutes and technicians from the Regional Authority) to define the methods and approaches of the new Landscape Plan. The aim was to exploit the opportunities offered by recent legislation, such as the European Landscape Convention and the Cultural Heritage and Landscape Code, in order to formulate public policies and projects designed to enhance the quality of life throughout the entire territory, both valuable and degraded. Different skills, aptitudes and passions have come together in the hope that the recent phase of planning can trigger mechanisms that stimulate the inhabitants of Tuscany to continue to produce the collective work of art that is their landscape, in the exquisitely normal manner and form that left scholars such Desplanques pleasantly perplexed when he wrote: «These people have constructed their rural landscapes as if they had no concern other than beauty.»
