Monografie je třetím svazkem edice zabývající se korespondencí Bohuslava Martinů s jeho rodinou v Poličce. Tento svazek obsahuje 56 korespondenčních dokumentů z let 1934 a 1935. Jedná se o korespondenci jednostrannou, dochovaly se pouze dopisy B. Martinů adresované rodině. I přesto lze v těchto dokumentech nacházet unikátní autentická sdělení, v nichž sám Martinů komentuje svou životní i profesní cestu, aby své informace, záměry či postoje sděloval nejbližším rodinným příslušníkům, ale často jejich prostřednictvím i širšímu okruhu přátel v Poličce a v Československu. Shmuel Hugo Bergmann
In recent years, the interest on life and work of the Jewish writer, philosopher, mystic and politician Shmuel Hugo Bergmann (1883–1975) has perceptibly increased. Well-known as a protagonist of the famous "Prague Circle", Bergmann headed for Palestine in 1920, became the driving force for building the Jewish National Library in Jerusalem and finally advanced as first Rector of the Hebrew University. Illustrative electrical engineering in the primary school curriculum
Předložená monografie usiluje o přínos v oblasti výuky o elektrotechnice a zejména užití didaktických prostředků v podobě elektrotechnických stavebnic ve výuce současné školy, vymezením požadavků, které v souladu s cíli vyučovacího procesu a především s pedagogickou teorií jsou na tomto poli vyžadovány. V práci je shrnuta problematika elektrotechnických stavebnic z pohledu jejich aplikací v oblasti všeobecně pojatého technického vzdělávání, včetně formulace odpovědí na některé praktické problémy příslušné oborové didaktiky, jež jsou s nimi spojené. Součástí monografie jsou prezentovány výsledky v minulosti realizovaných výzkumných šetření.
Ethnic Diaspora Festivities in the Czech Republic
The publication reviews the festivities in the lives of immigrants who came to the Czech Republic after 1990 and who have since created new diasporas or established themselves as distinctive immigrant groups. Festivities are an important aspect of immigrants’ lives inside their social groups as they support the immigrants’ ethnic self-identification, strengthen their ties to their home country, and aid them in building a sense of belonging. The author elaborates on findings from research undertaken in various immigrant groups throughout the Czech Republic, focusing on the abandonment of festivities, their adaptation to the new environment, and the creation of new ones, while observing their social significance and cultural specificity.
Dynamics in GIscience
This book is intended for researchers, practitioners and students who are interested in the current trends and want to make their GI applications and research dynamic. Time is the key element of contemporary GIS: mobile and wearable electronics, sensor networks, UAVs and other mobile snoopers, the IoT and many other resources produce a massive amount of data every minute, which is naturally located in space as well as in time. Time series data is transformed into almost (from the human perspective) continuous data streams, which require changes to the concept of spatial data recording, storage and manipulation. This book collects the latest innovative research presented at the GIS Ostrava 2017 conference held in 2017 in Ostrava, Czech Republic, under the auspices of EuroSDR and EuroGEO. The accepted papers cover various aspects of dynamics in GIscience, including spatiotemporal data analysis and modelling; spatial mobility data and trajectories; real-time geodata and real-time applications; dynamics in land use, land cover and urban development; visualisation of dynamics; open spatiotemporal data; crowdsourcing for spatiotemporal data and big spatiotemporal data.
Computational Thinking and How to Develop It in the Educational Process
The ongoing development of information and communication technologies, including their introduction into education, continues to place new demands on pupils and teachers of informatics subjects, who must be prepared to respond to this development. One of these requirements is to develop the computational thinking of pupils as an integral part of the competences they must possess in the context of a contemporary information society. The presented monograph has attempted to provide answers to some of the questions that focus on the extent to which the competences of pupils or students in digital literacy and computational thinking can be developed and how the use of these approaches and methods is perceived by teachers of informatics subjects.
