Die vorliegende Arbeit verfolgt die Entwicklung des Bauernromans im frankokanadischen Raum von den Anfängen bis zur Gegenwart. Die 16 repräsentativsten Werke werden dabei unter den gleichen Gesichtspunkten (z.B. Rolle der Familie, Kirche und Religion, soziale Gegebenheiten u.a.) untersucht.
