Patient safety is first and foremost the key value of healthcare. Strengthening patient safety requires a proactive patient safety culture. Reacting to incidents is not enough. Accountable and proactive leadership based on risk management, combined with an up-to-date situational picture, is essential. Operational requirements and systemic development alone have not succeeded in bringing about sufficient change in the desired direction. A radical transformation that includes requirements for behaviour is manifestly necessary. The required change is based on a new way of thinking: the art of patient safety. By following and exploring the path presented in this book, you can develop your patient safety skills to complement your knowledge and expertise.
Potilasturvallisuus on terveydenhuollon perusarvo. Muutoksen perusta on uusi ajattelumalli - potilasturvallisuustaito. Seuraamalla ja tutkimalla kirjan sisältämää polkua lukija voi kehittää omaa potilasturvallisuustaitoaan osaamisensa ja kokemuksensa tueksi.
The essays offer a unified and comprehensive view of 17th century mathematical and metaphysical disputes over status of infinitesimals, particularly the question whether they were real or mere fictions. Leibniz's development of the calculus and his understanding of its metaphysical foundation are taken as both a point of departure and a frame of reference for the 17th century discussions of infinitesimals, that involved Hobbes, Wallis, Newton, Bernoulli, Hermann, and Nieuwentijt. Although the calculus was undoubtedly successful in mathematical practice, it remained controversial because its procedures seemed to lack an adequate metaphysical or methodological justification. The topic is also of philosophical interest, because Leibniz freely employed the language of infinitesimal quantities in the foundations of his dynamics and theory of forces. Thus, philosophical disputes over the Leibnizian science of bodies naturally involve questions about the nature of infinitesimals. The volume also includes newly discovered Leibnizian marginalia in the mathematical writings of Hobbes.
Hybrid Electric Vehicle Technology provides foundational information about vehicles that use more than one propulsion technology to power a drive system. This textbook is filled with technical illustrations and concise descriptions of the different configurations and vehicle platforms, the operation of various systems and the technologies involved, and the maintenance of hybrid electric vehicles. Safety precautions required used when working around high-voltage vehicle systems, especially in emergencies, are highlighted.
