The Mayor of Hornbach Stadtschultheiss Isaac Besse (1652-1725)
Isaac Besse, son of Henri Besse (1624-1699) and Catherine Martin (1652-1725), was born in 1652 in Ste-Croix, Vaud, Switzerland. He married Anna Maria Scheel in about 1683 in Hornbach, Germany.

In Deutschland wurde in Umsetzung der WRRL ein Gewässertypensystem entwickelt, dem es für die breitere Nutzung über die EU-weit berichtspflichtige ökologische Gewässerbewertung hinaus an taxonomischer Auflösung der Referenzbeschreibung und an regionaler Repräsentativität mangelt. In der vorliegenden Arbeit wurde eine bottom-up-Überprüfung dieser top-down-Typologie und weiterer Klassifikationssysteme vorgenommen, die sich der Eintags- und Steinfliegenfauna (Ephemeroptera, Plecoptera) von Bergbächen des Harzes als Testgruppe bedient. Umweltvariablen unterschiedlicher Maßstabsebenen wurden auf ihre Eignung zur Charakterisierung der für die Testgruppen relevanten Umweltgradienten untersucht. Auf dieser Grundlage wurden zwei multivariate Prognosemodelle zur Vorhersage lokaler natürlicher Referenzzönosen der Ephemeroptera und Plecoptera entwickelt und deren prognostische Qualität vergleichend untersucht.
