Starfighter pilot Captain David Leahcim and his young gunner, Lieutenant Markka, are left to die in the cold of space after their squadron is wiped out. They are found barely alive by T'oann, a distrustful military commander who will stop at nothing to learn their secrets while hiding one of her own. Trapped on a world unlike anything they've ever known, in a universe they never knew existed, David and Markka must choose to stay alive long enough to be rescued or sacrifice their lives to save a world at war with itself.
